On the weekend of 14/15th June 2008, the Bristol Filmmakers Festival 2008 comes to the Watershed and the Arnolfini.
Organised by Bluescreen, Cineformation and the Misfit Collective, this is the relaunch of the Festival that ran from 1997-1999. This is the independent film community’s very own celebration, scheduled in the Spring to match the Autumn’s wonderful Encounters Short Film Festival that takes place at the Watershed (18-23rd November).
We’ve gathered the special film work of this city, spun it around and caught it in the sessions you see below. Live-action narrative, documentary, music video, animation and experimental image-making most created out of love, not commission, most driven by individual voices rather than organisational agendas. This is set to be an annual extravaganza, a ‘family party with home videos’, a community festival open to all who are interested. It’s open to the public - come and see what’s going on.
Special thanks to the wonderful support from the teams at the Watershed and the Arnolfini for making this whole event a reality. Proof of their support for the creative life of the city big love, big respect.
