Narrative Fiction

Some examples of narrative fiction films made by G&S and many brilliant collaborators, (listed here). These films represent an aspiration towards feature film making. They are experiments and sketches and give a picture of the diverse workings to spring out of Gauntlett & Son invention workshops. All films are written and directed by Henrik G Dahle exept for the Cloud Film / The Rat.

The Equater & The Equater Complex
2006.

A meditative science fantasy about a journey to peace from a scrambled mission to solve the ultimate questions. The Equater makes a discovery he hadn’t expected on reaching the end of his mental resources.

The actor plays the writer experimenting/pontificating the different uses for 8mls of ink. If life is only 8mls - what will you do with yours? A visual post modern treat made on one roll of super8, editing in camera, the audio made independently of seeing the exposed film.

Three people find themselves literally in the middle of nowhere with no comprehension of how they got there. The landscape is created by sound effects the characters seem oblivious to.

Made for the 'Joy of 8 Challenge'. One of the most exciting ways to make and see a film!
We attempted to read the script live along to the film as it screened, having never seen it to rehearse. (see the joy of 8mls above). It was a chaotic disaster but a lot of fun.
